Autocriticism and some new info

Hey there bloggers;)

I would just like to autocrizise myself about my videos from youtube

First of all, I would like to know all your opinions, if possible, If I am doing something wrong or if I have to get better on something..kind of technique or sth else

Personally, I think I will have to do two versions of songs I upload. One version is the "Entertainer" version, which would be the youtube version. And the other one would be an "album" or "CD" version, which will be more soft and not as loud and fast as the "Entertainer" version.

I do this because it takes a lot of effort to play the "entertainers" version, which most people seem to like. Compare the two versions of "Your guardian angel" and "I'm so sick", people prefer the louder and "impropiate" version..?=S

Just let me know if you like the idea;)

"Again" by Natasha Bedingfield Ft. Bruno Mars Piano Cover=)

Hi!

I have been, as I said I while ago, listening to some songs my sister used to listen to, and this song is one of those she would listen over and over again=P

I came across to listen to this version of "Again" of Natasha Bedingfield and Bruno Mars and I liked the piano intro and specially the modes that are used in this song, the most notizable is the lydian scale!!I really like it^^

Did you know that the choruses of some emo songs and metalcore songs use this scale?That's why some of their songs sound sweet and/or nice=)

I have the manuscript sheet music and I will be posting it on my download server by next next week, as I'm going to Santiago de Compostela this wednesday!=P

That means that I won't be uploading anything=S

Anyways!=PIt is always better to give than to receive always, because if we always receive, one day life will take away something from us.. like the internet..people take lots of advantage of it that many musicians end up with nothing because of the illegal dowloads and all those stuff. It is such a pity, as I, as a fan of many music groups, buy at least their CD's and if I could, go to a concert, but they never come here..=P. I own at least 20-30 CD's in total, and I don't even care if it cost me a CD 20€!!I'm a fan and support them because I love the music they play and they deserve even more than 20€ I guess=)

Hi!

Finally, we are all on holidays!!=Dyeheeeeeeeeey!!^^

Surely, most of you have many many things to do!!

Oh well, does this mean that I will be able to put up some sheet music of my covers?

Good news of bad news??

Well, first of all, I need a notation programm to be able to spread the sheet music, and also, I will be (NOT SURE ABOUT THIS..=P) making my own website!=D

As I am busy with my other stuff, studies, music, piano..life itself!xD, It would take me time also to produce the sheet music. I will be "selling" this sheet music of each song you want.

The sheet music, which I will be selling in the near future, is the one I use on all my piano covers.
I will also be giving free sheet music to the begginer ones who actually don't know how to play piano. BUT! This sheet music will contain only the main melody of the song and the chords above the melody line of the song.

Now, if you are in this situation and want to go on with the "premier" sheet music, I will be giving you some tips. (In the future, I will be putting up a website where you can ask me anything!=))

"Talent show"

Hi!

Last sunday I participated on a talent show here in Madrid =)

I will be posting a video of the medley I played

I was kinda nervous at the beggining but at the end, I think it all went ok;)
Btw, I only had one week and some days of preparation, I struggled a lot trying to find a piano for the contest, as they didn't have any piano in the place I played=(

But finally, my church offered me an old digital piano and I got to play!=)

Playing any song by ear

Most of us have encountered a situation that we heard a really niice song and went directly to the piano and try to play it. Most of the times, for the beginner ones that haaven't played the piano, it will take them a while to get the song.

If this is your situation then start reading^^

First of all, you have to listen closely to the song and see in which tonality the song is. After you've done this, you have to get the scale of that note.

Now, you might not know what a scale is, well then, search it on google=P, a scale has 7 notes(most of them), there are two basic scales, major and minor. The most used ones are those ones and sometimes the minor melodic or harmonic, but it's not very usual.

Anyways, once you got the first that is to be played, that's the tonality of the song, meaning that you will begin and end with that note, excluding modulation which changes totally the tonality of the song.

Once you've got the first note and its scale, we can now proceed to the second step.

We keep on listening to the song and try to figure out the notes that are played in every measure of the song. Because the left hand is the bass note that normally in popular songs, lasts for a whole measure and this note can be sustained throughtout all the measure.

The notes that we're going to play for the left hand are the ones related to its scale.

For instance: We have our first note that is C, then..we play the C major scale and we have this notes, C D E F G A B
This means that the next note to be played is 90% probable to be one of the scale.

In the song "Lucky" by Jason Mraz, we begin in C, means that the tonality is Cmajor,
why then..cannot it be Cminor??, if you do the Cminor scale it has notes that are not related to the actual song.

We keep on listening and then the bass changes to a A note, this is very important, we have to listen closely to the bass, it's like the pillar of the song.

As we keep on listening to the song, we notice that sometimes, the bass repeats over and over again. Some songs use chord progressions, visit this place on the wikipedia and read it a little bit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chord_progression

The third step is, when you have the notes in the left hand, start getting the melody with the right hand, this may take you a while, but if you got it, that's really nice=)

Now, when all the song is set up, you can play an octave with the left hand, BUT, only if you can reach it, an octave is the same note that you played but higher, I mean, the next note that is the same. For instance, you play C, you have to play the other C that is high from this C.

There are many ways to decorate a song, I will be posting it these days^^

Early days in Piano/keyboard

Classical music at first sight might seem boring and sometimes even hard to aproach and appreciate. This is in general as I have seen and lived through all my life.

In my own experience, I got involved in classical music thanks to Kyle Landry, who is a fine pianist who uploaded his own piano videos to youtube and attracted lots of people who are quite amazed with his work. He played a Chopin piece: "Fantasie Impromptu Op.66". When I heard him playing this I got the sheet music inmediately and tried to play it in my 4 octaved keyboard(a casio that my parents bought for me when I was young)Obviously,it was really really hard for me but I got to memorize the whole except the "coda" or ending part.

I grew up with disney songs and some songs of whitney houston,Beatles,etc,that were integrated in my little keyboard. Here is where I got to learn almost all the chords. Since then,I started to improvise the songs that were integrated and getting better eventually. I started to play(not seriously)at the age of 6.

There was a point in my life where I couldn't go on because I needed someone to help me..I had a music teacher at school and she also played the piano.
One day, I changed school and went near one home. As I was walking home someone started to "beep" me with the car(I don't know how to say this since I'm from spain..=P),and she stoped by and greeted me, telling me also that I could go to her house and get some lessons at a very reasonable price.

To make the story short, I got into the classes for some months and when there was vacation,the week after and the following days I didn't go back because I lost interest and was really lazy..=S
I guess I was 12 or 13 years old when all of this happened.

..months later, I saw her driving her car and stoped by asking me why did I dissappear and stoped attending to her clasess.. I didn't know what to say, as I felt a little bit offended and scared=(=S

Faber drive(Tongue Tied) piano cover + info!!

Hi,

This is a piano and strings cover of the song Tongue Tied by Faber Drive

I got to know this song thanks to my kLòÓuxiie =), she always shows me niice melodies from these bands;)

I've been planning myself to play this song for about a month ago or so..

First, I wrote the notes that were sung and then I got the chords. Since that day I didn't concentrate in this song, until last wednesday were I got to record the piano and string part.

I have another version with drums, but the big problem is that I forgot to record the drum part in my piano..this means that I recorded directly from the pc and not from the piano=(, meaning that I couldn't adjust the volume and/or effects. The drums were louder than everything and I didn't want to take the risk of uploading it due to people who will maybe flame me..xD

Still..I want to know if this cover is better with or without strings or any other instrument.

I've been quite busy with some classical stuff that I will also be uploading =P

I'm going next year to the conservatory, after a year where they didn't accept me=(, I was really nervous last year, I hope this year I will succeed^^

anyways, as u can notice, the video is not 100% syncronized=SI really don't know why but I think that my camera is broken..=(I've been using it for 2 years and got the first one I saw. It was quite expensive and now I regret for buying it=@

I will be reuploading another version of this song with drums, strings, bass and maybe synth=)I just need a good video programm that will allow me to put more than one video in a screen

I actually have the complete version, but I think I need to get better at playing the drums on my pianoXD

La música clásica

Como bien sabemos, la música clásica ha estado siempre presente en nuestra vida, especialmente cuando éramos pequeños. La novena sinfonía de Beethoven, que es el actual himno que nos suena como si hubiera nacido en nosotros, o la marcha turca de Mozart, entre otras otras muchas composiciones de estos grandes autores, siempre queda algo de ellos en nuestros corazones.

Ahora bien, estos autores no pueden ser olvidados a menos que la música desapareciera; aunque si bien es cierto que la música actual tiene como raíz la música clásica, en concreto, Franz Schubert o Félix Mendelssohn incorporaron lo que hoy llamamos canción. Un claro ejemplo sería el "Ave María" de Schubert o "Canciones sin palabras o Songs without words" de Mendelssohn. Muchos grupos musicales surgen día a día y la mayoría de ellos suelen gustar. Sabiendo que la gente no está interesada por la música en general, la música clásica la dejan de lado, no suele gustar debido a su complejidad, y esto es complicado de escuchar o de "gustar" a una persona normal no interesada por la música. Otro ejemplo sería alguna Sonata de Beethoven o algún preludio de algún compositor del Romanticismo como Chopin o Liszt. Esto ocurre, como ya dije antes, por la falta de interés o la complejidad de dicha(s) obras, ya que por lo general, estas obras, especialmente las sonatas, suelen ser demasiado largas.

La gente busca simplicidad, brevedad, algo rápido y fácil de escuchar. A una persona normal, le haces escuchar la novena sinfonía de Beethoven entera y la mayoría de las veces, cuando le preguntes qué le ha parecido, le dirá que sólo le gustó la parte choral de la sinfonía. También dirá que es demasiado extensa y/o aburrida. Pues bien, estos grandes compositores, se consideran "grandes compositores" debido al gran esfuerzo que han impuesto. Pensar que se tarda años en componer tal sinfonía, en concreto, 10 años para sólo una "canción", ahora, esto no se le llama canción, cosa que muchos de nosotros diríamos, ya que una canción tiene una estructura determinada. La sinfonía tiene otra, un preludio tiene otra forma, una sonata tiene otra..y así sucesivamente, pero nosotros hemos reducido los conceptos musicales en una palabra: "canción", un lamentable error; aunque sí, queda bien decirlo porque es lo que la gente entiende por canción.

Si bien Beethoven tardó 10 años en componer dicha sinfonía y poca gente de hoy en día lo aprecia, ¿podrían ellos componer tal obra maestra?La respuesta varía según los estudios musicales que haya recibido cada una de estas personas; pero por lo general, aunque se pasaran 20 años intentando componer una obra maestra, no lo conseguirían.

A lo anterior.. actualmente, una canción se puede componer en mucho menos de una hora con tan sólo 2 o 4 notas musicales. Esto se aprecia en las bandas americanas o las bandas que emiten por la radio. Es tan poco el esfuerzo que realizan que se conforman con lo que salga y suene melódico y/o bailable. Una canción no debería componerse en tan solo unas cuantas horas si realmente se quiere una "obra maestra" se habría de dedicarle mucho más tiempo. Hoy en día, una persona con el poco conocimiento musical que tenga, puede empezar a componer, pero vale más lo que compone alguien que haya cursado el curso de música entero, ¿no es así?, en realidad, todo es cuestión de suerte, si esta persona que ha compuesto tal obra y trinfa aun no teniendo ni idea de lo que hizo alguno de los grandes compositores por nosotros, ¿qué le importa a la gente? con tal de que esta persona sea atractiva o sea muy conocido/a.

Según dijo Nietszche, que cubrimos nuestra verdadera identidad. En este caso, en la música, dejamos atrás a la música clásica y es como si la dejáramos atrás, negándola y solo ceñirnos a lo que hay.

La música clásica en parte ha muerto, pero siempre permanecerá ahí y estará a disposición de cualquier persona, ya sea para cualquier uso, porque la música clásica nisiquiera tiene copyright, por lo que es asequible para todo el mundo.

Es cuestión de gustos y en parte, de conocimientos. Cada uno le gusta lo que le gusta. A mí me encanta la música y saco buen provecho de ella porque me encanta y voy descubriendo poco a poco escuchando lo que más me gusta.
